VersaTrax™ Y-Series Inspection Crawlers

Up. Down. See All Around.

The VersaTrax Y is a game-changing inspection robot built around an innovative Y-shaped, expandable chassis. Instead of magnets, it uses expansion forces to grip the pipe wall—making it ideal for nonferrous assets and for pipelines with changing diameters, tight bends, and any orientation (vertical, horizontal, or in-between). With a rear-facing camera, independent track control, and auxiliary LED lighting, operators can perform comprehensive remote visual inspections—even when submerged—thanks to a 60 m (200 ft) depth rating. The YSeries is indispensable for assessing flexible risers, pipelines, refineries, and other hard-to-reach infrastructure. See a marsupial setup using VersaTrax Y to transport tooling for pontoon tank inspection here.

  • Pipe Opening Range (Series): 200–915 mm (8–36 in) across models
  • Range: up to 1,000 m (3,300 ft) per run (model-dependent)
  • Live Video: Super low-latency stream with PT and PTZ options (including HD)
  • Depth Rating: 60 m (200 ft)

Welcome to a world of modular robotics designed for your remote industrial application

Industrial Robotic Applications
OnSpec Cleaning Robot

Eddyfi Technologies is an innovation leader in modular, mobile, industrial robotic systems with a global reputation for reliability, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness. We create technology that enables people to perform tasks that they could not otherwise do, in places they could not otherwise go. OnSpec Robotics, or custom robots built to your precise needs, enable access to areas that are too dangerous or remote for direct human intervention, providing time and cost-efficient operations.

Do you ever wish you could be in several places at once? Eddyfi Technologies has been doing it for years with our unique, multi-mission modular technology. The art and science of OnSpec Robotics is a very human endeavor taking you beyond what is humanly possible. Our remotely operated systems bridge the gap between you and the physical world, helping you reach the unreachable, see the unseen, and go safely beyond your physical limitations to perform the work left otherwise undone.

Whichever way you look, our bespoke industrial robots have your remote operation challenges covered. When the job calls for new ideas and fresh approaches, we are OnSpec. Whether it’s about integrating a unique OEM module, adapting proven technology for atypical conditions, or designing a custom solution from scratch, Eddyfi Technologies’ robotic experts will sit down with you to fully understand the exact nature of the problem, before scoping the optimal solution for your needs.

We recognize that choosing the right robotic technology for your business is a complex decision – one that goes beyond quality, reliability, and craftsmanship. We know it’s about identifying the systems best adapted for your precise needs. You require innovative solutions? It’s up to us to understand your questions and provide clear, relevant, actionable answers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the key differences between VTY200 and VTY380?
VTY200 covers 200–400 mm pipes with 300 m tethers and Spectrum 45 PT camera; VTY380 handles 380–915 mm pipes with 1,000 m tethers and Spectrum 90 PTZ (optional 120 HD PTZ) for largerdiameter, longerrange work.
Can the YSeries navigate vertical segments and multiple bends?
Yes. The expandable Ychassis with three tracks allows vertical travel and tight bends while maintaining traction and centering.
Is the YSeries suitable for nonferrous assets?
Yes. Because it uses expansion forces rather than magnets, it’s the goto choice for nonferrous piping and risers.
How deep can the YSeries operate?
Both models are depthrated to 60m (200ft) for submerged or flooded conditions.
