Retrieval Tools

Rugged Technology for Industrial FOSAR

Eddyfi Technologies’ retrieval tools are designed for harsh environments where FOSAR applications often occur. Built for any retrieval application, JAWS2.0 and RGT deliver the necessary tools to increase successful retrievals and increase efficieny.

JAWS 2.0™ is a rugged, motorized retrieval tool with an integral HDTV camera and LED Lighting. It is easy to use, robust, submersible, and works in any industrial environment. JAWS 2.0 is operated with a wired controller that adjusts mobility and visuals. This all-in-one device helps users to locate objects and quickly retrieve them, without the need for additional retrieval and monitoring equipment. The controller features a 5 in. (127 mm) industrial-grade 1080p HD color and sunlight-readable display with a hardened glass face.

RGT delivers the same industrial ruggedness as JAWS 2.0, but without the HD camera and lighting. RGT is the perfect retrieval solution for easily visible locations or paired with additional retrieval or monitoring equipment.

Both JAWS 2.0 and RGT have 9 end effectors that can be easily interchanged to optimize the retrieval. JAWS 2.0 is available as a basic kit or as part of an ultimate loose-parts retrieval kit.

Welcome to a world of modular robotics designed for your remote industrial application

Industrial Robotic Applications
OnSpec Cleaning Robot

Eddyfi Technologies is an innovation leader in modular, mobile, industrial robotic systems with a global reputation for reliability, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness. We create technology that enables people to perform tasks that they could not otherwise do, in places they could not otherwise go. OnSpec Robotics, or custom robots built to your precise needs, enable access to areas that are too dangerous or remote for direct human intervention, providing time and cost-efficient operations.

Do you ever wish you could be in several places at once? Eddyfi Technologies has been doing it for years with our unique, multi-mission modular technology. The art and science of OnSpec Robotics is a very human endeavor taking you beyond what is humanly possible. Our remotely operated systems bridge the gap between you and the physical world, helping you reach the unreachable, see the unseen, and go safely beyond your physical limitations to perform the work left otherwise undone.

Whichever way you look, our bespoke industrial robots have your remote operation challenges covered. When the job calls for new ideas and fresh approaches, we are OnSpec. Whether it’s about integrating a unique OEM module, adapting proven technology for atypical conditions, or designing a custom solution from scratch, Eddyfi Technologies’ robotic experts will sit down with you to fully understand the exact nature of the problem, before scoping the optimal solution for your needs.

We recognize that choosing the right robotic technology for your business is a complex decision – one that goes beyond quality, reliability, and craftsmanship. We know it’s about identifying the systems best adapted for your precise needs. You require innovative solutions? It’s up to us to understand your questions and provide clear, relevant, actionable answers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much weight can JAWS or RGT lift?
The lifting capacity is highly dependent on the shape, hardness, size, and, of course, the weight of an object. Hard and smooth objects are more difficult to grip with the jaws compared to softer or rougher surfaces. When the jaws can grip around an object, the weight can be up to 50 lb (23 kg). At times, it may be better to release and re-grip an object to achieve a better hold. There are several different types of jaws available, designed to work with various shapes and sizes.
How much grip do the jaws provide?
The tips of the jaws can provide up to 25 lb (110 N) of squeezing force. When the object is positioned farther back into the jaws, more force is applied.
Is a longer cable available?
We have made longer cables in the past with lengths up to 200 ft (60 m). The tool will work, but at reduced capacity, as the extra length of cable absorbs some of the energy for the tool and makes the jaws slower and less powerful. Longer cables have been used successfully where the full capacity may not be needed.
