Hi-Def PTZx Inspection Cameras

High-Definition Remote Visual Inspection Cameras.

Hi-Def PTZx is a portable, Pan-Tilt-Zoom, fully high-definition (1920×1080), color video inspection system loaded with features to efficiently inspect tanks, vessels, drums, and other large, confined spaces and piping systems. Hi-Def PTZx is packaged in three variations: 3.0, 4.3, and 5.4, which allow for optimized size and capabilities for different applications.

Hi-Def PTZx can perform remote inspection with cable lengths up to 500 feet and controlled by either an integrated reel CCU or compact modular CCU. State-of-the-art integral white LEDs provide over 2000 lumens of cool white light with add-on auxiliary lighting to brighten the darkest of environments.

  • Access Diameter: As small as 3 in. (76.2 mm)
  • Live Video: Full high definition (1920×1080) color video
  • Submersion Depth: 100 ft. (30 m) of water
  • Range: Up to 500 ft. (152 m)

Industrial Robotic Applications
OnSpec Cleaning Robot

Eddyfi Technologies is an innovation leader in modular, mobile, industrial robotic systems with a global reputation for reliability, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness. We create technology that enables people to perform tasks that they could not otherwise do, in places they could not otherwise go. OnSpec Robotics, or custom robots built to your precise needs, enable access to areas that are too dangerous or remote for direct human intervention, providing time and cost-efficient operations.

Do you ever wish you could be in several places at once? Eddyfi Technologies has been doing it for years with our unique, multi-mission modular technology. The art and science of OnSpec Robotics is a very human endeavor taking you beyond what is humanly possible. Our remotely operated systems bridge the gap between you and the physical world, helping you reach the unreachable, see the unseen, and go safely beyond your physical limitations to perform the work left otherwise undone.

Whichever way you look, our bespoke industrial robots have your remote operation challenges covered. When the job calls for new ideas and fresh approaches, we are OnSpec. Whether it’s about integrating a unique OEM module, adapting proven technology for atypical conditions, or designing a custom solution from scratch, Eddyfi Technologies’ robotic experts will sit down with you to fully understand the exact nature of the problem, before scoping the optimal solution for your needs.

We recognize that choosing the right robotic technology for your business is a complex decision – one that goes beyond quality, reliability, and craftsmanship. We know it’s about identifying the systems best adapted for your precise needs. You require innovative solutions? It’s up to us to understand your questions and provide clear, relevant, actionable answers.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far can the camera see?
When choosing a Spectrum camera, consider two main factors: the distance to the subject and the color/surface condition of the target. Generally, the 10× optical zoom is suitable for inspections up to 30 ft (10 m), while the 30× or 40× optical zoom can reach 50–80 ft (15–25 m). Surface conditions play a big role: black and shiny surfaces are the most difficult to observe, whereas lighter matte-colored subjects are far easier to inspect.
How do I configure a system?
To configure a complete system, three choices need to be made: first, select the camera size that physically fits your application; second, choose the controller style that meets your operational needs; and third, pick the cable length based on the distance required to operate the camera effectively.
How I choose which camera to use?
Determine if the camera will fit through the access point of the asset being inspected—usually a flange, pipe, or hand hole—and reach the area to be inspected. You may also require accessories such as rigid poles to properly position the camera.
How do I choose which controller to use?
If you need portability around a plant, choose the reel with integrated controller. If the controller will be installed in one place, use the modular controller for tabletop operation. Both controller types are compatible with all HD-PTZ cameras and cables.
How do I choose which length of cable?
Cables can be made to any length up to 500 ft (150 m). The cable reel controller accommodates up to 150 ft (45 m) on the spool. The most popular length is 100 ft (30 m). Choose the length based on your target application. Extension cables are available if the system needs to be extended in the future.
